The Trager® Approach is a form of bodywork and movement re-education, which utilizes gentle, rhythmic, non-intrusive movements to facilitate the release of stressful physical and mental patterns. Oftentimes, such patterns are experienced as pain, stiffness, or functional limitations. They can be the result of poor posture, injury, improper movement habits, illness, emotional trauma, or the stress of daily life.
Trager® sessions are approximately 1 to 1 ˝ hours in length. A session includes hands-on table work and guidance in self-care movement awareness called Mentastics®. The session takes place in a warm and comfortable environment that is well suited to the relaxed, meditative manner of the work itself. During a session, the Trager® Practitioner moves the client gently and rhythmically with no undue force or pressure. Frequently, the Trager® patient is moved in such a way that s/he actually experiences the possibility of moving freely, effortlessly, and gracefully in an independent fashion.
Common benefits of TragerŽ Bodywork include pain relief, improved posture and body function, increased mobility, heightened levels of energy and vitality, and an enhanced ability to relax.
