Pre-event massage helps loosen, warm, and prepare the muscles for intensive use, thereby enabling the muscles to work efficiently for longer periods of time. Pre-event massage also increases flexibility and range of motion, which further decreases the likelihood of injury.

Post-event massage stretches tight muscles, thereby decreasing muscle tension and stiffness. It increases circulation, which helps eliminate waste and toxins from the tissues. Post-event massage also minimizes soreness and speeds muscle recovery following overexertion.
